Use of a liquid cream improves sensitive rosacea-prone skin, Stanley B. Levy, Revlon Research Center, Edison, NJ, United States; Anthony M. Dulichan, Revlon Resarch Center, Edison, NJ, United States; Michael D. Helman, Revlon Research Center, Edison, NJ, United States
Background: Consumer research has consistently demonstrated that 50% of women consider themselves to have sensitive skin. It is reasonable to consider sensitive skin as a variant of normal skin that is hyperresponsive to external stimuli. Rosacea-prone individuals consititute a significant proportion of those individuals with sensitive skin.
Objective: To test the efficacy of a topical preparation for alleviating the signs and symptoms of sensitive or reactive skin including rosacea-prone skin.
Methods: A liquid cream was formulated specifically for individuals with a reactive rosacea-prone skin type. A screening questionnaire was developed to identify individuals with sensitive skin who were rosacea-prone. Twenty two subjects ages 28 to 60 identified by this questionnaire as having sensitive facial skin were recruited and evaluated by a dermatologist for erythema, dryness, and inflammatory lesions. In addition to erythematotelengiectatic rosacea, some of the subjects had mild to moderate papulopustular rosacea. For 4 weeks they applied the liquid cream twice daily to their faces. A self-assessment questionnaire was obtained at 2 and 4 weeks. The subjects were reevaluated clinically at 4 weeks.
Results: The test formulation was well tolerated by all the subjects without adverse reaction. By self-assessment, statistically significant improvement was noted in skin reddening, flushing, visible blood vessels, skin texture, and overall skin condition. Statistically significant improvement in objectively graded erythema, dryness, inflammatory lesions, and globally was seen at 4 weeks.
Conclusion: A formulation was developed for individuals with sensitive and rosacea prone skin. Within the scope of this study, the liquid cream was well-tolerated and shown to reduce some of the signs and symptoms of subjects with sensitive skin with and without active mild to moderate rosacea.

Does anybody know what this Almay product is and if and where it is available. I used to use Almay moisture renew step 3 moisturizer for sensitive skin which really used to help my rosacea symptoms but devastatingly it has been discontinued.
I’d like to know the name of this product also
My face has always been “rosy” and becomes more so with exposure to the elements, which doesn’t help because I spend a lot of time outdoors.
I started using the Made from Earth Rosehip Hibiscus Serum last summer to soothe my skin before and after a day in the sun.
Now that it’s winter, I love it even more. The cold temperatures and winds usually turn my face red and puffy to the point of stinging, but now when I get in I put on the serum to quickly calm my irritated skin. And my skin isn’t flaky and dry anymore either! It’s soft and healthy looking!
I am 44 and have been diagnosed with rosacea about 1 month ago. I have sensitive skin, which tends to be on the dryer side and am medium toned skin.
The doctor prescribed metrogel. I did not see any results from that for 3 weeks. I have done a lot of research and am taking acidophilus, omega 3 and drinking cranberry juice. (I stay away from caffeine and acid foods (ie orange juice).
As a cleaner, I am using bioderma sensibo H20. For a moisturizer I have found that the moisturizers by bioderma work well for me. To cover it up I am using almay truly lasting colour with spf 15 and am having no reaction, now that the itching/burning pretty much left my skin.
I hope that some of this information helps you. It is a slow process to get it to clear up. Finally with the foundation as a cover-up, I dont mind going out in public anymore.
My skin is very sensitive, when ever i apply foundation cream or make up on my face, pimple appears on my face it become very irritating, when ever i apply foundation cream it will start itching, so please suggest me a good foundation cream , and also tips of make up to avoid irritation on my face
