The mysterious CD5024 1% Cream for which Galderma is conducting a large Phase III trial, has further been confirmed as the anti-parasitic Ivermectin.
This latest confirmation comes from the World Heath Organisation’s International Clinical Trials Registry Platform Search Portal. The search for CD5024 reveals trials that have completed in the Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary. The register was created in 2006, the same year as when CD5024 was trialed in Australia.

David – I can confirm from the materials I was given today that CD 5024 1% is indeed ivermectin!
Thanks for the confirmation.
I am in the trial and the clinical fellow told me that CD 5024 1% is a formula of the anti parasite medication ivermectin – though it is a blind clinical trial in the States. 1/2 of the participants are on a placebo. Medication has been around since the 70’s and been given to domesticated animals (dogs mostly) but human for some conditions – never rosacea.
Any news on this? Is it working?
We have had some comments from one trial participant. See RosaceaHater here –
CD5024 Trial Comments.
These trials are still getting going in the UK – recruitment was still open very recently. I find this slightly disappointing in one sense, as it means the ‘end’ is still a way off. In the UK trials there is no placebo – it’s being compared to Metronidazole (rozex cream). Participants get one or the other, 50/50 chance.
The phase 3 trials of CD5024 vs. Metronidazole have now completed, as at December 2013. Now we just need the data…..
I could be totally wrong, but I’m thinking that Galderma will use Soolantra as the name for this product when it gets released.
