> Hi,
I have a few questions I hope someone can answer.  I was just diagnosed with rosacea about 6 weeks ago.  Mine started with the rosy cheeks and really, really dry skin.  It is very itchy and sometimes it burns.  I wake in the night sometimes digging at my cheeks because they itch so bad.  I have been using PLEXION cleanser twice a day and Noritate cream once a day for 6 weeks.  So far, I have seen no improvement.  The redness doesn’t bother me so much because I can cover that, but the dry, itchy skin is horrible.   Does anyone else have this problem?  If so, any recommendations?  Also, does the rosacea ever go into “remission”.  Or am I going to have red, dry cheeks forever???   My doctor said to give it 2 or 3 months, but I am having trouble understanding how the medication takes that long to work.   Any answers to these questions would be greatly

PLEXION was a god send for me. I have had Rosacea for about 15 years.  I was able to control it with Metrocream until about 1-1/2 years ago.  I had a very serious flair with lots of papules and pustules and redness. I was taking tetracycline 3 times daily, Noritate at night and Cleocin-T during the day with very little relief. Two months ago my derm prescribed Plexion. The next day I saw immediate improvement.  Within a month I was completely clear. I wash with it twice daily, leaving it on for about 5 minutes before washing off, followed by either the Cleocin-T or Noritate and then Cetaphil Moisturizing lotion for sensitive skin. I no longer have to take the tetracycline. If I try to alter this regime, I will start to break out again. I hope this can be encouraging.

Doris

P.S. I have learned more from this support group than I ever have from the dermatologist.

[update March 2012]: Please note that Plexion has been discontinued and is no longer available.
