Subject:  [rosacea] Re Frank Boyd’s cure for rosacea

Hi everyone,

Sorry if I haven’t answered some messages. Was gone for a few days and again been trying to catch up w/ work. Someone sent me some info re Frank Boyd who claims that he has a cure for rosacea and apparently, is charging $20 for this info. He also made people sign an agreement not to divulge his "cure" except to a dermatologist. Therefore, I got the info.

Here is his secret treatment for free: "Evidently, Mr. Boyd had a great anecdotal experience after suffering rosacea for 3 yrs. He tested positively for H. pylori and was placed on the triple rx of Biaxin, Tetracycline and an acid blocker for 2 weeks and this cleared his acne rosacea completely except for the redness which took 6 months to fade away. He claims that he can now eat anything he likes although he apparently is still taking his Pepsic Acid to control his gastric acidity. "

The controversy regarding any correlation between h. pylori and acne rosacea is still murky. It is a fact that some dermatologists do recommend testing rosacea patients, especially those who have gastric symptoms, for h. pylori, and be treated. However, several scientific studies have contradicted the direct correlation of this bacteria with rosacea. Therefore, the jury is still out on this theory. I hope that no one sends any more money to Mr.  Boyd.

Anyone who was a half-decent human being would give out this information for free. It sounds as if he was one of the lucky ones, so how can he justify charging people who have tried everything and suffered for years?

Thank you Linda Sy MD for exposing this nasty piece of work.
