Hi trojans10 and welcome to our board (wave)

Have you seen any of the dermatologists members have recommended above? If so, it would be interesting to have your comments. If not, perhaps you might want to try one of them?

Kind regards,

I am still with my Kaiser derm, whom I haven't seen in months; just the occasional email when I need a refill, or want to try something.

There's also this, from the American Academy of Dermatology.

edit: when you do a search, chose Medical Dermatology as a feature to look for; they specialize in skin conditions.

I realize this is an old post, but I found this interesting. When I was searching for a Dermatologist for my mother I discovered you can search for doctors that have done work in rosacea. But I also wanted dermatologist that were good - so they also must be a FAAD Fellow.

Dermatologist in the Bay Area that are:

1) A FAAD Fellow
2) Have done *research* on rosacea

Hi CrabbyCathy,

I'm a Bay Area rosacean and currently with Kaiser (though willing to go out of network if nec.). I wonder if you still recommend your derm and, if so, if you could share his/her name? My general background: rosacea started out with broken vessels, progressed to problems around nostrils, then cheeks, now bumps on the nose. (shocked) The last is really alarming me - I'm not sure if it's a sign of rhinophyma or something else, but I'd like to address it ... yesterday.

I'm hoping to find a derm who either specializes in rosacea or has extensive knowledge about it - more than "here are the types" and "avoid hot foods, caffeine, sunshine, ..." Ideally, the dr. would know about the pros and cons of different treatments, including of different laser options and their effects on diff types of complections and ages of patients, if relevant.

Thanks so much.
