Here is a link to Steve's bird photos, and a few other shots:

For bird photos, our dear Jen could give you both a run for your money. Sometimes there are dozens and dozens of those brightly-coloured birdies flocking in the trees in her garden, waiting to um, um, um, surprise anyone coming outside.

It's hard living in Australia, but I guess somebody's gotta do it. (rofl) It wouldn't be fair to have all that incredible scenery and astonishing wildlife kept for the tourists alone.

Kind regards,

Aurelia

As a distraction and as a bit of a creative outlet, taking photos and processing them on the computer is a heap of fun. Hope you enjoy these.

Yes, many thanks for those fabulous photos. You certainly did look half-frozen!

In the first photo, I loved the way the uplifted arms of the statues echoed the upward-reaching branches of the trees, especially the white tree. I wonder what species it is. It looks too broad for a white birch. Could it be a Himalayan birch? Surely not a ghost gum, which is a eucalyptus from Australia?

Novi Sad looks a delightful place, with such charming old buildings and so very well-maintained. I was fascinated by the roofing, especially the red and blue chevron stripes on the cathedral steeple, and also that tantalising glimpse of orange and green patterning seen in the last photo. Took me a wee while to realise that it is a side view of the cathedral. How unusual to have two such very different colour / pattern combinations on the same exterior!

Thanks for sharing,

Aurelia

Love the shot of the castle tower in the yellow light, very dramatic with the dark skies behind.

Coming from a young country, it is always interesting to see old ruins. We are barely old enough to have ruins round here ...

There is so much to see in your part of Europe. Novi Sad (means new garden right?) looks lovely. I would love to be able to explore the balkans one summer.
