How to Get Rid of Visible Veins without Laser HELP!!!

Postby sstatler » Wed Feb 24, 2010 4:15 pm

I cannot afford Laser. Period. On top of that I found a cheap place but, Ive had about 10 treatments already and nothing!!!! My skin is stubborn. It's not worth it so...

My problem is I have visible red veins (tiny tiny tiny) from sun damage. It started in middle school in my theory because I was out in the sun without sunblock. I have controlled the burning which only started a year ago with MetroCream.

-Ive heard talk about Red Light Therapy on this website. Does this work for small tiny veins that are dilated from sun damage? In particular I have one spot on my face that is a cluster of red veins that just looks like a red round circle on my face.---If this will work...anything semi cheap yet still effective that I can buy?

-Will improving my circulation help this go away? Honestly...I dont work out lol, and I should...Im starting a regime this week.....

-BioOil-Anyone heard of it?

Anything else guys? I can live with uneven skin tone but this one group of veins that make a red circle on my face...even when i put makeup on to cover it, it looks like I pound on the makeup in that one spot. Its just so ugly I cant even NOT wear makeup, even around my fiance.

Hi.
I don't think RLT will get rid of it, to be honest. I'd say it's way to gentle and you'd have to do it for years and years on end, and even that I'm really not sure would work.
Bio oil is an interesting suggestion as it's suppose to help stretch marks. I'm not sure about applying it to my face though. Small test patch perhaps? I'm just not sure there's much on offer besides the extremely expensive laser.

I agree with Lisa; I'm afraid only a laser will eliminate that one spot. Perhaps they're not using the correct laser to eliminate what you have in particular? What did your derm say?

Bio Oil is thick, I believe, and not sure it would do anything to help. Let me pull up the ingredients. It says "scar treatment"....it has liquid paraffin as the first ingredient, and lots of fragrance oils in addition. Not sure I'd want to use it on my face, but maybe on a scar or something?

What make-up are you using? If it's so visible, it might be the wrong color, or not be pigmented enough to cover adequately without putting many layers on, which of course then looks like--many layers of make-up. I have been there :)

Hi sstatler,
I really don't have much to offer but you could try grapeseed extract or pycnogenol. They are supposed to strengthen blood vessels and while I cannot offer definitive proof I think it is helpful for me.

Good luck!

Best wishes,

Well I just had a tube of Bio Oil I had used on a stretch mark and thought about it. The patch Im referring to is on the bottom of my face near my chin line and i Never break out much there (not sure why)...But I just wasnt sure if it would really do anything.

Ive done about 10 Pulsed Laster Treatments and it did nothing........I feel like its a waste of money. Is there any other suggestions?

As far as Grape Seed Extract...That is cheap and easily found in a grocery store...I am intersted in trying this but does it help already affected blood vessels?

+ Working out which would of course help the circulation bit.

Is there a difference between topical extracty and pills?

I just ordered grape seed extract pills...but there is also topical liquid to apply to the face...would that help since theres one particular place I want to target...or does it really absorb as well as pills?

Sorry I have one more question.......

what kinda of pigmented makeup is best?

for foundation i put on a thin layer of CG aquasmooth foundation (its not liquid or powder its the other kind) then I use maybelline mineral makeup and brush it over that. It doesnt looked caked on except in that one spot where i have to put more CG makeup than normal.

Is there a makeup that is better-one Ive heard of his BARE MINERALS but...thats too expensive, is there something i can find at Walgreens?

Be careful with Bare Minerals! I know they claim to be for sensitive skin, but in my case, they caused an allergic reaction that gave me lovely little red bumps on my cheeks. So careful with it.

It's usually the department store foundations that have much, much more pigment in them than drugstore ones, although the L'oreal True Match one is pretty good. Perhaps you could do two thin layers on that spot, then brush your powder over it? They also make a concealer, I think, and are owned by Lancome. Or....perhaps a stick concealer?

I use Lancome Teint Idole, and they also make an undereye concealer that is great for the skin, not just under the eyes. It's called....Effacernes, I think.

If you have an Ulta near you, they carry Dermablend.

1. Ive heard of Dermablend but its really expensive but from the videos I watch it seems to cover...ANYTHING. What are peoples experiences with this?

I may try Loreal or Lancome. Loreal is less expensive-any successes?....Ive used Lancome in the past and their products are great...I love Maybeline but it just doesnt seem to cover everything up to leave me with "clear" skin.

2. I just bought grade seed extract to take in a pill form as someone suggested but Im still wondering if it works on any thread veins that I already have-any successes with this as well?

Thanks guys.
