Hi All,
This topic may have been discussed a lot previously, if so, I apologize. Feedback and advice is much appreciated since I am currently in a very uncomfortable situation. Currently, I am in Mexico in a tourist area, however, I am here alone as a solo woman traveller. My skin is very sensitive and whenever I am stressed i have a flare up. Last month I have been dealing with my deceased parents estate and a lot of tauma re; fighting with siblings over our inheritance. I used a lot of retinol on my face thinking it would help the rosacea clear up. Not fully realizing that retinol followed by sun exposure could cause photosensitivity. NOW i am here in Yucatan - to get away from it all - with the worst case of photosensitivity. I wear sunscreen and make up during the day and other tourists have said I look fine. However there is a real issue with street harrassment. My hotel is good and safe yet once outside in the street, several times I have been harrassed by complete strangers (local men0 calling me names, rude names because of my irritated skin. I am of course very upset. I am wondering whether make up makes any difference or whether these men are simply looking for anyone they perceive as weak to harrass. What would you do? There are 2 men who sell souvernirs in the streets near my hotel who have beenharrassing me persistenly. I ignore them but it makes me angry. Has anyone here coped with this kind of street harrassment based on their rosacea? Thanks cathy53

Not harassment.. but stares.. rude comments and treating me like its contagious for sure.
On a side note, what are you doing to address the sensitivity?
