Redness After IPL (Please Help)

Postby awcooper88 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 7:02 am

Hello,
I have rosacea on my face, but it is not constant. Most of the time my face appears mostly white, but I suffer from relatively serious flushing when I am stressed, drinking, etc. It was never anything too unbearable, but for whatever reason I started to get fed up with it a little over a month ago. Like I am sure most of you already know, it can be a real cause of embarrassment when you are speaking in front of a group of people and your face starts to glow bright red... Anyway, after finally having enough, I spoke with my doctor, and he recommended the IPL treatment. Again, the redness was never a persistent issue, and my face appeared perfectly normal as long as I stayed away from any triggers, but I wanted my public speaking confidence back, so I took the doctor's advice. I did the IPL treatment a little over a month ago (about five weeks or so) and my cheeks are now red at all times. It looks like the redness has been slowly going down, but I am still worried this is something permanent. Does this sound like something unusual, or like something anyone else has encountered? It is as though the IPL treatment brought everything to the surface for good, instead of just flaring up occasionally. I read somewhere that for rosacea patients the IPL treatment will cause redness longer than it will for others, and that it might take several weeks for it to subside... Is that true?

Hi
it is true, after an ipl treatment I had, it took at least a month for my face to get back to normal. However you could get in touch with your doctor and inform him of the situation.
Take care

Yeah, I actually did get in touch with him (several times...). I was upset because the results, side effects, or whatever you want to call it, were not what described. He did however eventually tell me it would take a month for it to go down. It's been about a month and a half, but I am pretty sure it has been going down slowly. The left side is taking especially long, but I sincerely hope it returns to the way it was before the "treatment." Thank you for the response though. It's nice to know this isn't potentially a problem.

Hi there!
I didn't find any thread related to this topic. If i'm wrong please inform me.
Has anyone heard about effective neuropeptide cream/medicament? After laser therapy I'm looking to solve my skin problems (inflammation, redness and swelling).
Has anyone tried Laserat?

Could you tell me where can I find my answers? Do you know the websites with more information? Where can I start a new thread in this forum?

The first thing when you have the problem with your skin is to contact with trusted specialist/dermatologist. Then you can try medicaments/cream/other. Laserat could be helpful. After 1 week of using it you should see the difference.

I went to my gp and dermatologist, but it was a waste of time. They suggested me another therapy, very expensive and I'm still thinking about this medicament Laserat, could you write something more, do you have any experience?

My friend used Laserat and told me that it was ok at the begining, but in fact she couldn't see the real results, because she started a new therapy. I will talk with her and try to take as much information as I can.
