Re: Ocular Triggers

Have not been here for quite awhile! I used Restasis when I had mild dry eye and before I had ocular rosacea. It helped some, but as my eyes got dryer, the Restasis began irritating my eyes, and actually made the redness and irritation much worse. My eyes are now quadra plugged, and supposedly Resta...

Sugar...Desert...Pie...Cake...Something...

What does everyone do to quench a sweet tooth. I have been off sugar for at least a year or more and think that I have tried every form of sugar and every substitute on the planet. I can eat green apples, asian pears, blackberries, and yams and that is as close as it comes to sweet. Would love to he...

Re: Ocular Triggers

Sorry Mags. I haven't been on this site for awhile, and just saw your post. Thanks for your good wishes, and the same for you as well. My situation seems not so simple as it seems I have gluten problems, as well as rosacea, MGD and tear deficiency. Trying to figure out what to eat is a challenge. Ho...

Re: Boric acid water and eye mask

Hi Mum3, You will need antibiotics to control the rosacea and bacterial infections. My suggestion is to find the best eye doctor in your area. There are so many other eye issues that arise from ocular rosacea, and it may take awhile to find a doctor that is in tune with your specific condition. Not ...

Re: How do i know if certain foods trigger my ocular r?

I am having a terrible time with this food thing too. The facial Rosacea is easy, but this eye thing is really tough. I feel like there is nothing I can eat. (surrender) I am going through the same thing. Chocolate is a killer. Tonight I ate some pineapple and tomato. Red eyes got worse. Need to fin...

Re: Ocular Triggers

Thank you Cathy. Still not sure why something would trigger the eyes and not the face as well. One of the links you gave yesterday said ocular and facial rosacea can work independently, and it certainly seems that way. Yesterday I felt much better after taking two Benadryl for allergies. It made a b...

Re: Please take our newbies poll

I was diagnosed with facial rosacea in 1995 by a dermatologist. It has been controlled successfully with Metrogel and an occasional dose of Doxy. After having terrible problems with my eyes for the past year, I was finally diagnosed this month by a corneal specialist as having ocular rosacea.

Ocular Triggers

Hi! I have had facial rosacea for years, and it is well managed. I was recently diagnosed with ocular rosacea after experiencing severe problems with dry eye. Are the triggers for facial rosacea the same as ocular? I am baffled as to why I have this in my eyes, and not a hint on the face if the trig...
