Ivermectin

What is Ivermectin? Ivermectin is a chemical that is mostly known as a type of insecticide that can kill the mites responsible for scabies and similar conditions in both humans and animals.

Ivermectin can also kill Demodex Mites, which has been linked to rosacea.

Ivermectin can be applied topically and also has an oral form, which is commonly used to treat mange in animals.

Galderma has been developing their own version of Ivermectin for over a decade and recently gained approval for Soolantra – a 1% Ivermectin cream formulated into Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion. Soolantra is the FDA approved version of Ivermectin that can be used to treat rosacea.
