Kiersten Rickenbach, MD. She works at Brooklyn Hospital. She is very nice and friendly, and also very patient. And yes she has rosacea also, so she will be very understanding with any of your concerns. Good luck finding a dermatologist.

NYC often sounds like a bit of a rosacea desert - lots of people looking for help, but dissatisfied with the quality of what is available. Dr Rickenbach sounds lovely!

Yes she is and you are very welcome. I've been through about 3 derms before i found her. And they were all very dismissive. They just wanted to say "Ok this is what you have, this will take care of it, BYE!". I was also very young at the time. My rosacea started when I was 15 so maybe that's why they felt they didn't have to take me very seriously. But so glad you found Dr. Rickenback bbillcee. And Aurelia, it's true when it comes to rosacea, there aren't alot of derms that know how to deal with it. Not even the general public here really know what it is. They just look at you like you have 3 heads, lol. But I like educating them. And many have never even noticed I have it so that's always nice.

what treatment did put you on anyways?

she prescribed oracea and metrogel. i only used the oracea because she gave me a ton of free samples of it. i didn't have insurance when i saw her so i decided to not get the metrogel.

i haven't gone back to see her since july. i took the oracea for about a month, and i did feel that it helped. my skin seemed calmer than when i wasn't taking it. good luck, i hope you find her helpful. she's great.

FYI, Metrogel does come in generic and I don't think it is all that expensive. Oracea on the other hand.............
