Jojoba Oil

Postby Sweetness_&_Light on Wed Jul 08, 2009 12:00 pm

Hi,
Anyone using pure Jojoba Oil as a facial moisturiser?

This seems to be the only moisturiser my skin can tolerate (and i have tried loads of different things that only worsen rosacea ) So far Jojoba Oil is doing it the world of good! I use 'JASONS Organic Jojoba Beauty Oil'.

So far so good!

I used pure Jojoba oil on my face and it felt great. After a week or so, however, my skin started to break out so I had to stop using it on my face but I still use it every other day as a skin conditioner after showering (I mix a couple of drops of jojoba oil in a dollop of body lotion); this way it really works well for me.
Rosacea symptoms: occasional flushing, diffuse pinkness.
Treated seb derm successfully w/ raw honey and virgin coconut oil. Quit eating sugar in Apr 09.
Suplements: Arctic-D cod liver oil + wild Alaskan salmon oil.

Thanks for your responses.

I have been using Jojoba Oil for over a week and i haven't erupted yet! (Only hope i am not speaking too soon!!!)
My skin does feel good and looks better than it has in years. The redness is fading slowly. I have had problems with tiny pimples erupting all over my cheeks and nose, and sometimes upper lip, which get worse around menstruation (from Ovulation time of the month onward). Since using Jojoba Oil these pimples have almost gone.

Time will tell !

My update on Jojoba Oil.
Yup, i am still using Jojoba oil as a facial moisturiser morning and night and my skin is improving. The condition of my skin is so much nicer, clearer, smooth and supple and less prone to flushes. The hormonal pimples have been less and less over the months too. (But i am taking Agnus Castus for my menstrual cycle so this may have helped here as well). I am pleased with Jojoba Oil and despite hearing that it makes some people's skin breakout, for some reason it has not done this to me! In fact, it has been the opposite and helped clear up pimples. Thankfully, at last, I have found a product that helps my skin in more than one way!

The great thing about Jojoba Oil is that it is suitable for all skin types as it normalises the skin and regulates the sebum production since it very closely resembles the skin's natural oils.

As with most things, it is necessary to use this for at LEAST two weeks to give it a fair chance. For me the results have been slow, steady and continual. The longer i used it, the better the results and I am still seeing improvements after 3 months!

Patience is the key.

I am impressed! (yes)

It is probably the most versatile skin product i have used so far!! I believe you can also use it as a make-up remover/cleanser even around the eyes. It is so mild. I use Jojoba Oil to remove foundation, then use my regular facial wash and then apply some more Jojoba as a moisturiser. (yes)

I am so glad you are seeing positive results so soon. Remember to give it a few weeks for your skin to 'stabilise'. Well done! (clapping)

Don't be put off by any changes in the first week of using it. I have noticed when i use a new product, the first five days can be a bit tricky, but beyond that everything settles and improves no-end.
