Daisy if you mean Roaccutane i.e isotretanoin i strongly suggest you read my post on the drug, from personal experience, in "systemic treatments" section before you or anyone else even consider taking it in your dreams.

If you decline to read the post and are adamant to take the drug, even though there are safer alternatives, then i would strongly advise you never to exceed 5mg intake per day. Even though studies are yet to prove that ANY amount, no matter how small the dose, of this drug is safe.

Apparently irritation is common with Finacea, at least at first, but I would also calm my skin down before trying again.

Here is a thread with Artist's comments on how she got used to Finacea, etc.

I don't know how it works for you guys, but if I get a reaction to something (which isn't just because I put too much on or left it on for too long) then I can never use that product again.

I love Finacea.

I've only used it a week. I'm a persistent flusher, with deep painful flushing that lasts a long time and leaves horrific cystic acne and P&P in its wake.

I used to flush like that all the time. It hurt like hell and did a lot of damage.

Years of IPL and, more recently, V Beam, combined with a low carb diet, Clonidine, and Remeron, have all worked to push back the flushing.

I'm still redder than I'd like, and now since all that laser and all those drugs have clearly improved things, I figured it was time to try the number one thing my most excellent derm recommended, Finacea.

I was highly skeptical it would help. Been disappointed with topicals before, many times. All of them seemed to anger my poor face. But I loved Finacea from the first application. I saw a tremendous reduction in the redness and misery from literally the first dose.

The benefits are small and slow and they seem to be cumulative for me. Things are better now than they were a week ago. I wake up pink, not red. P&P stay for a day or two, not a week.

Most impressive, and highly recommended. OH, I mix mine with my moisturizer, using a pea sized amount of FInacea, when I apply it. Perhaps that's why I've never experienced the irritation some complain of when first starting it?

Hope this helps!

Well it's had some pretty good reviews.

Now there needs to be a catch or everyone would be using it. Right?

Can we discuss long term side effects? Cost? Can it be used daily? Etc

If it is safer than Elidel than I may consider swapping.

Thanks

I think the "catch" is that, like all topicals, it's not one-size-fits-all....
