Noritate Cream

Postby Jewel on Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:02 am

So my Dermatologist gave me Noritate cream and it has improved things greatly. But I'm confused about it. Am I suppose to use this for the rest of my life? Or just to the symptoms go away? I don't want to over use the cream. I still have a little burning on my lower cheeks and things have cleared up greatly. So I stopped for now. I've been on it for about 6 weeks now.

Hi Jewel,

The topicals like Noritate are considered safe for long term use. If you find that you continue to see a benefit from using it, then with the support of your doctor you can continue to use it. Over the long term you might find that you can find other ways to help reduce inflammation and think about ceasing it, but I wouldn't worry about using it long term.

There is some systemic absorption of the active ingredient so the prescribing information suggests that it shouldn't be used when the patient is pregnant.

Here is the Noritate Prescribing Information for the official listing of side effects and contraindications.

all the best,
