Rosacea and Saliva

Often thought of as a genuine symptom of rosacea, the facial burning and stinging that rosacea sufferers experience can be debilitating. What tips do you have to deal with facial burning ?

Rosacea and Saliva

I have a weird experince. Most of my Rosacea has cleared up with the Noriate cream but what I'm confused about for awhile is that I have burning in my lower cheek area. Anyway, what I think is going on, is when I wake up in the morning, I have some drool in this lower cheek and chin area. I'm thinking the burning is coming from my saliva or something. Anyone ever heard of this?

Rosacea skin can be very sensitive.

If your saliva is contacting your face and remain there for extended periods it may cause a low grade reaction.

I think sometimes it is possible that children have allergic reactions to their own saliva, but I haven't heard about this in adults....

Is the reaction or redness localized to the area in which you find the saliva?

Does the reaction or redness follow a disinctive curve/pattern which is similar to that of a liquid leaving the corner of your mouth?

Can you sleep without a pillow for a few days (so your head is tilted back) so saliva will not leave your mouth.

These are a few ideas which may help you come to a conclusion.
