Rosacea Ltd

Postby lotus82 on Wed Nov 04, 2009 6:32 pm

Hey all,

Have ordered my rosacea ltd and it has just come through the post and have given it a couple of trial runs as it were. Could someone tell me what you are meant to do once it has dried and left a film of minerals on your face? Feels a bit like going to sleep in a sandpit unless I have the wrong idea?? Also re using moisturiser could i use something after the application of the disk (like Cetaphil maybe?) rather than use the oil suggested as slightly petrified it would clog up my pores and cause cystic acne (happened once before with bio oil - not fun and still have the scar). Hopefully this will work pretty good, just a shame my face is so dry at the moment - had a couple of sunburns in the summer and havent re-hydrated skin properly yet.

Any advice re the above would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Hello there! (wave)

I myself bought the disks but didn't use them; the jojoba oil suggested is very light, and doesn't cause problems for most people--bio oil is very thick.

However, hopefully someone who has used the disks will answer soon. I think David used them in the past.

Hey Cathy,

Apologies for the massive delay in reply times! Have used for a few weeks and seems quite drying and doesnt have too much of an effect on overall redness but it does seem to be reducing number of P&Ps I get. Sadly I flushed the tan disk down the toilet the other day as didnt take it out of paper after drying so have had to re-order (redface)

Hopefully will continue to get less and less P&Ps as would rather reduce them than the redness as for me thats the worst part of this disease by far!!

How frustrating to flush the disk down the toilet ! I can see how easy it would be, I used to leave mine sitting on paper towel too.

When I first read that you flushed the brown disk, I was thinking you meant that you had a facial flush from the brown disk, not that it was flushed away (shocked)

Hopefully you will continue to see improvements in your P&Ps as you keep using it.

I guess you could say that a loo flush is preferable to a facial flush as the former only lasts a few seconds ;)

So! I dragged out my discs today, and am testing the brown one on a tiny spot on my left side. It does feel quite sandy and gritty; I have to look for the paperwork that came with it; I also wonder if I can apply moisturizer on top or under, rather than oil. Hmmm!

Anyone used these recently, or not so recently? Did you use both, or favor one or the other disc?

Test spot became red, tingly, itchy-burny, so I washed it off after an hour. Still tingly as I fell asleep. Woke up with a few bright red pinkprick papules in the area. Boo!

I tried that system over a year ago or so (cant remember theres been so many). It really didnt do much for me and as I have it really bad on my nose to the point where my skin wont build up half the time, rubbing a big sand paper block on it only serves to scratch off whatever skin is trying to heal. I never noticed any improvement with that system and the oil just made me look more like the greasy vaseline faced freak from highschool. Wonderful, another wad of cash down the drain.
