Well, I was just diagnosed yesterday, after spending many years explaining away my red cheeks as rosacea, based on visual appearance. About 12 years ago, I had to change facial cleanser & moisturizer due to what I thought were allergic reactions. Basically, they made my face hurt. My main symptom so far is telangectasia on both cheeks and my chin. I also have very dry itchy skin on my forehead. I also have asthma, dust & mold allergies, hypothyroidism, migraines, and osteoarthritis in multiple locations (not strange for my age). The challenge that I see at this time, is to get my asthma & rosacea under control without aggravating anything else or each other. Current daily meds include Advair, Claritin, Mobic, Synthroid, Depakote (for migraine prevention), calcium supplements, vitamin supplements, Maxide, & potassium. The last 2 are because my doctor thinks I have HTN. Okay, so it's high in her office, but I have several years of home readings that never make it above 110/70! I also have several PRN meds: albuterol, Antivert, Phenergan, Tylenol III/codeine, codeine/phenergan cough syrup, Epipen (never had to use it yet). Newly added yesterday: Metrogel (for the rosacea) and Singular (for the asthma). Right now, I hate to go outside, since I'm never sure whether the cold air or the warm sun is going to make my face hurt. I'm supposed to be exercising more, but it's hard to do in the confines of my house. |
