did like try zenmed like everyone else when theyre desperate but it was pretty much a waste of money, i still use the cleansing cream though, its been the best cleanser ive found anyway, but the support serum doesnt seem to do anything except make ur skin a bit oilyer and the anti redness mask actually dried my skin out out and doubled the redness so i dont know how they figured that. hopefully thats helpful, just be careful with the mask!

I had a bad outbreak of Rosacea through December and January which resulted in a trip to the local GP for more pills and creams. While the pills helped the creams did not. Rosacure helps my skin, but could not purchase it anywhere. My tube was way out of date. After talking to Mr Google, for a while, sent an Email to the makers in Italy, who gave me an email address for george@emagin.com.au who is their Australian contact. The company is Emagin Pty.Ltd
                                                                     Unit2, 37-39 Green Street,
                                                                      Banksmeadow
                                                                       Sydney NSW 2019
They have Rosacure Intensive with SPF 15, as well as Rosacure Fast. They will also be marketing a cleanser and these products will soon be available in certain outlets [do not know names]

If anyone wishes to purchase these products just email George who was most helpful.

Greetings to all other red-cheeked Santas.
Reassured to read there is hope of returning to something approximating my fair-skinned former self as I continue exploring, photographing and painting all of Australia's parks—into my fifth year as a vagabond. I hike a lot, well slathered and sheltering under a broad brimmed hat. Invariably my face glows scarlet from the exertion and the slightest exposure to sunshine even with SP30+ triggers a breakout of ugly pimples. Like many of you, I'm teased about imbibing too much, or getting too much sun! If only it were that simple to prevent, eh?
Quit the grog (I rarely imbibe). Avoid the sun. (I do and as a consequent have to take Vitamin D supplements)
Fortunately I'm a whiz with Photoshop and have gorgeous unblemished skin by the time photos of myself enjoying this or that park arrive at one or other relative or friends' mailbox.
Way back when a period of great stress first triggered Rosacea, my Victorian dermatologist prescribed ROZEX. My skin reacted by producing even more pimples! Thanks Mate.
Somewhere a few years down many dirt tracks, a doc in SA prescribed ERACNE to combat the
pimples. Doesn't do a thing for the redness but it does reduce outbreak of bumps and blemishes.
The most effective in almost entirely eradicating the pimples (not the redness) overnight is a medication prescribed for another condition: DIPROSONE. Nasty stuff which thins the skin with prolonged use, thus resorted to only before venturing back into civilization to restock larder and do laundry. Once confident in public, I'm now embarrassed by my perpetually scarlet cheeks.
Confronting a batch of WA relatives for the first time tomorrow, Christmas Day, but not wishing to be taken for Santa, provoked a spend-up in a chemist on CLINQUE REDNESS SOLUTIONS. Green tinted SP15 base and make-up does an okay job of covering redness but plastering make-up on to conceal c rosacea is not a solution to it, is it?
Thus I've just ordered ZENMED. Will it work? Or should I consider laser treatment somewhere down the long and dusty road? Would appreciate feedback from others who have taken this step.
New Year's resolution?
No more chocolate.
Sob.
No more red face.
Grin.
Happy new 2012 fellow cheery cheeked lads and lassies.
At least we can see our rosy, blemished faces.
My dear, diabetic friend, Ann, cannot see my face, nor hers, anymore.
Blindness trumps rosacea any day.

"Hi ,

I have had Rosacia for about 2.5 years and had a liver test about 6
months ago - the enzymes were also high. No apparent reason. But
anyway they are fine again now. But isnt that interesting.

I work on the theory that all cells in the body are renewed every
couple of months including the skin so I add all things that will
nourish my skin - internally and externally.

My rosacea has almost gone.

I have been having anti inflamatary oils -

fish oil caps

cold pressed almond or sesame oil on toast with vegemite Indians use
sesame oil for skin.

oat and chia seed porridge. I blend the chia and oats to a powder and
then pour over hot water. Oats are also good for the liver, they also
have a "drug" that decreases cortisol the stress hormone.

kelp for extra mineral trace elements

vitamins.

I'm adding in pink grape fruit/ or grapefruit juice - lemonoids are
known to grow stronger capillaries.

I wash with powdered oat mixed with boiling water - its a soapy plant.

I use johoba and vit E oil for skin, also egg yoke/ water for dry
hands and skin, zinc cream, kelp water - not every day.

that is working for me so far.

"Hello, I am 28 and am English but I have lived in Sydney for 3 years.

The best solution to 'controlling' my rosacea is purely cutting back on drinking. I think dehydration makes my rosacea flare more than anything else. I try to drink lots of cold water, hardly drink alcohol, particularly spirits and swim in the sea a lot as the salt water seems to help.

Epsom salts disolved in water through the winter. Salt is dehydrating but if I replenish with water I can control my outbreaks.

Another thing which I'm not sure if anyone else has but newspaper ink affects my ocular rosacea...also bright lights can make me very red too. I only really have rosacea on my nose but finacea gel for me is great along with clear zinc too as the sun is so strong here.

They can send a man to the moon but they can't cure rosacea - hopefully one day. I get quite down when I have the odd flare up and I really feel for worse sufferers. X "

Hi all

Good to find some Aussie content on here. Just came by this site by accident. Very interesting reading though. My rosacea is not as bad as some on this site, and I really do feel for those who get it much worse than I. I realized though through my reading that my rosacea I think is linked quite a bit to my diet. Around the same time as blood test revealed abnormal liver functioning in terms of enzymes I noticed my red cheeks started to get permanent lumps and I felt flushed and hot in my cheeks more often. I have been using finacea gel for over a year and whilst it works okay, still not getting rid of the problem. I did some research on my liver problem and found there is a bit of a link to poor liver function and bad skin. I have recently bought a copy of the liver cleansing diet and there is quite a bit about the link between liver function and skin problems. So will be trying this out to see how I go. Will keep you posted.

Hello all

I have been lurking on this very valuable site for a long time and appreciate all the little pointers fellow sufferers have shared.
I have had rosacea for almost ten years though I would consider mine fairly mild compared to many others. I do go through the dry eyes and severe flushing especially in winter. I live in Brisbane and look forward to summer as the humidity prevents dry eyes and subsequent flushing. I really do suffer in winter when the dry cold winds blow so i try and stay indoors as much as possible in winter - which contributes to my vitamin D deficiency though.

I have seen four to five different dermatologists and compared to information I have gathered from the internet, reckon the disease is poorly understood by the speacialists. The standard antibiotic treatment hardly works. For me, i find that the fastest way to cool a flushing episode is to splash cold water on the face. I recently started carrying a little water atomiser with me to spray the face when needed. I have seen a similar product being sold on ebay.. I think its called an ibeauty nano mist. The atomiser sprays a fine mist of water on the surface of your face without drenching it with water. My main trigger is strenous exercise though i find that flushing from exercise usually calms downs relatively quickly compared to flushing brought on by dry eyes, cold dry winds etc.

i also look forward to trying Tom Mcarthurs pawpaw cream. I guess we all live in hope.

So many products containing so many chemicals.

While not perfect, these tips seem to work best for me to keep things under control:

* Try washing your face in nothing but cool water. I sit in the bath with the shower hose and gently spray my face with it to clean. No chemicals. Pat dry afterwards.
* Eat healthy. Get regular exercise.
* Wear a good broad hat to avoid the sun (i don't use suncreens on my face if i can help it as i have very reactive skin).
* Avoid spicy foods and excessive alcohol.
* Practice breathing meditation to calm internally. Helps settle things externally as well.
* Buy a blender and have a fresh green apple or a pear with water as a calming and refreshing internal drink, morning and night.
* Try drinking the juice of half a squeezed lemon in a glass of warm water first thing in the morning when you wake up (internal cleanser and boosts your PH levels for good health).

I left work early today because I was in so much pain that I was in tears and my face was so red and swollen it looks like I had been burned. I am so glad that i have found this forum. Most things i read are from the US and products to try are not readily available. I have suffered rosacea (with the whiteheads and acne like pustles)for about 7 years. I also have probably spent over $2000 in medical expenses and pills, lotions and potions. I have got some great tips from everyone on here, so thank you.......I now don't feel so alone!!!!!

Im a 40yo female and I've had rosacea for 10 years. I was diagnosed and prescribed Rozex but this was too harsh and drying so doc changed to eryacne. Much better! I've used it almost everyday for 8 years and it still works.

Over the years I've literally spent $1000s on creams, makeup etc that I can't use. I had an extreme reaction to Zenmed products (stay away from them - they didnt even bother to respond to my email informing them).

I have thankfully found products that work for me. I use a mild oatmeal cleanser (Rosacea Care brand) Dermalogica Ultra Calming Mist and Gernetic Synchro moisturizer as I have very dry skin. I also use dermalogica foundation mixed with natural sunscreen. I have managed to keep my rosacea under control for the most part (no pustules or itchy rash like lumps) since I've found these products even though I'm naughty and drink hot drinks, have a hot bath and drink red wine when I want.

I have managed to keep my rosacea under control for the most part (no pustules or itchy rash like lumps) since I’ve found these products even though I’m naughty and drink hot drinks, have a hot bath and drink red wine when I want.
